Volunteering makes you feel good!  Whether traveling or in your hometown, you can help great causes and make friends as you do so.  

Volunteer Match.

I just found an interesting website, called Volunteer Match, that attempts to pair would-be volunteers with organizations.  Simply enter your zip code or city in which you would like to volunteer.  Click the SEARCH button and you will have a list.  

Lots of opportunities.

Austin, Texas (where I am when I am writing this) has 582 different volunteer opportunities.  Live in a smaller town?  Farmville, Virginia where I lived before I started traveling has 18 volunteer opportunities.  Not bad.
