#5. Chapman: FreeLanguage.org.

Before I talk about Chapman and his project, I want to thank Cameron Beers for introducing himself and showing me amazing hospitality the other night. He owns his own business in downtown Charlottesville, BA21,
that just recently finished a project for the LOOK Photography Festival in Charlottesville and also, the American Festivals Project, which is a crew of photographers traveling the USA hitting lots of obscure festivals, like the Mustache Festival in Alaska.
We stayed at his Mom’s and his place out right on the doorstep of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“I just had this faith, that I knew it was going to succeed.”
I think this is how Chapman worded it, as we were driving back to Charlottesville on a beautiful, sunny morning, as he was sticking his multi-colored, striped socks out the window of the car. The socks were a present from a friend’s grandma in Germany.
Ten years ago, he had started working on website projects, in order to fund his travels abroad. Today, he has a site, www.FreeLanguage.org, which has a humongous collection of pages dedicated to connecting people to links to site, which can teach you many different languages for FREE! He makes his living from the revenue the site makes from advertisements and affiliate income (basically, he is the middle man connecting people to sites that have products and, if I understand correctly, those sites give him a cut of the profits).
Chapman is energetic and confident. He has a scraggly beard and great stories.
He is in Charlottesville visiting family (his family owns a bunch of businesses including Beer Run, which I have numerous recommendations to go to)
before he heads back to Poland; back to his “work.”
He was a Linguistics major in college, so he took his area of expertise, then he posted content on his site for 2-3 years before he was able to make a living from his site.
Now as we sat, sipping coffee, he was making money.
“I know, beyond I know, beyond I know,” was a quote from the movie, “The Secret.”
To illustrate that if you believe and pursue with an absolute faith, you cannot fail.
While hanging out with him, Cameron, and their cautious, yet intelligent friend, Rolph, I was becoming more and more certain that you can live the life you want, while giving to the world.
I feel as if I can not be stopped.
Create our world.
