My Dad & I demoing some Kayaks.
Bill & Paul’s
I have been visiting my Dad for the past few days in Greenville, Michigan. I grew up here!
My Dad has always got his hand in some activity and he is currently looking at kayaks. At a nearby lake, the sporting goods store, Bill & Paul’s Sporthaus, was allowing anyone to come down and try out any of their kayaks. We made reservations and were soon,paddling around Stoneyside Lake, testing the turning ability and comfort of different boats.
BUT, as we left, I was thinking how great of an idea that was for Bill & Paul’s.
Here’s How:
1. Give People a Taste!
I am not a kayaker, but as I was paddling around, I was thinking, that this wasn’t so bad. My Dad who wants to get into it, was really liking it. Show people how fun it is!
2. Get to Know The People!
The instructors were good dudes! They were helpful, funny, and very knowledgeable on the gear. We went from strangers to personally knowing each other. I like buying from people I know and trust!
My Pops and I both left feeling good about kayaking and even better than Bill and Paul’s provided that for us.
Bill & Paul used their Strength (great kayaks and great employees) to build Relationships with their customers.
I like Bill & Paul’s!

How can you apply this to your current job, dating, or maybe a project you want to start?
Offer your strengths to others as a service to build relationships!
Demo your art or music to build up the people that dig you and give some away!
Demo your organization to your boss by doing something over and above, and ask for nothing in return!
Demo your listening skills, the next time you get together with friends to focus on finding out all about them and not just waiting for them to stop talking to throw in your story!
These are just examples off the top of my head, but if you have more please share!
Invest in good relationships with those around you and giving your strengths away and you will naturally SELL KAYAKS (or whatever You are into!)!
