“I saw your sign, ‘Towards Grand Haven’ and I just thought, ‘I’m going that way. Nothing else crossed my mind.’” – Luis

Luis picked me up, when I was standing on the off ramp in Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.  His two little ones were asleep in their car seats in the back.  He drove me about 8 miles or so past his exit, right outside of Marne.  He had a bit of time before his appointment.  Here is a short video clip of Luis’ mission in Life:

Earlier I had gotten two rides to reach Downtown Grand Rapids, from Jeff and Jared.  Respectively, a Dupont Manager and a budding Trade lawyer on his way to William & Mary.  Micheal, an ex-Navy engineer now a firefighter, told me about his daughter who did some mission work in Haiti and the Dominican Republic and when she went looking for a nanny job, she went like a hot cake.  She is working for a billionaire in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. Ron, a retired insurance salesman who is thinking of buying a large sailboat to cruise up and down Lake Michigan’s coast, took me into the heart of Grand Haven and dropped me off.

After a two day lay over in Lansing, I was where I wanted to be.  I went for a dip in Lake Michigan.
