Images take people places and make people FEEL. Therefore, they have inspired movements, won wars, and in turn changed the course of the world.
TreeHugger just posted an article about the Greenpeace Design Awards. An attempt to motivate designers to create an image to inspire people to help our world.

I have tossed around the idea of becoming a war photographer. Not seriously, but I really respect the work.
Kenneth Jarecke, a photojournalist, has a great quote:
“If I don’t photograph this, people like my Mom will think war is what they see on TV.”
