Help in Haiti.
Yesterday, I was wondering how I could help in Haiti so I decided to do some research and share that with everyone. I am going to postpone my original post about my Great Aunt Betty & my time in Yuma, Arizona till tomorrow.
Help in Haiti.
1. Don’t Go!
This is what I was considering, as my funds are low. But they need experienced disaster professionals with years of international service. Other volunteers can be a hinderance more than help.
If you do have lots of experience and are interested, check here at The Center for International Disaster Information.
2. Don’t send Goods!
3. Do Send Money!
This is the best way to help right now and in the coming months as Haiti is rebuilt. Here are some relevant articles that will help you, if you are considering this option:
*Beware of Bogus Online Charities!
Quick Overview Tips (read article for many more):
1. Choose already established and popular charities.
2. Don’t respond to spam emails or click links in any emails that look suspicious.
*White House site: Recommends giving 10$ to the Red Cross.
*Charity Navigator (a charity watchdog): Posts 31 charities that are helping.
*Unicef: or Call 1-800-4UNICEF

If this is helpful, please share it with others.
Have you already donated?? Or are going too?? Please share your experience in the comments section for others whom might be donating in the future.
