Ringing in the New Decade with people from around the world in San Diego.

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.”
~T.S. Eliot, “Little Gidding”

Happy New Decade!

Happy Night.  My first day in California.  I eat Carne Asada with my friends, Hope and Rachel.  Hope and I keep running into each other around the USA.  I couchsurfed with her in Lansing.  We then ran into each other in Grand Haven, Michigan.  Then New Orleans.  And now in San Diego!

Rachel, myself, and Hope pose for a picture in San Diego. We are all from Michigan.

 Hostel Cat.

A local hostel in town has a meet-up for travelers and locals.  Free to stay for the night.  It draws a huge crowd.  Some are from San Diego or California, and a lot of others are from around the world.  France, Norway, and the Netherlands are just a few.

Happy New Year.

I meet up with my friend, Dave, whom I worked with in Virgina.  We bring in the New Year swapping stories and navigating the crowds in downtown San Diego.

Happy New Decade!

I am sure this is going to be the best decade ever.
