Meet Eddie.

“I’m just doing this for fun.”

Eddie is playing Elvis covers on Hollywood Boulevard.  Not Elvis’ newer stuff, either.  No one else around here is playing ‘Old Elvis’.

Eddie just plays on the street for fun.  He is working with his agent, DJ Greasy George, on getting jigs in Los Angeles.  Eddie also plays an open mic across the street.

Eddie plays me a tune and afterwards, asks if I want to hang out.  I would have, but I already had plans.

Dear Akron Family,

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Thank you Akron Family for the shirt.

Thank you Akron Family for the shirt.

“Love one another and you will be happy.  It’s as simple and as difficult as that.” – Michael Leunig

Dear Akron Family,

Love is simple.

I saw you play at Nectar’s in Burlington, Vermont.  This was two years ago.  I was skeptical about paying 30 dollars to watch you play, as I had never heard of you.  I chose to shell out the dough, because I thought that there would be photographic moments.

Akron/Family – Franny/You’re Human

Found at abmp3 search engine

You started off playing the song, “Franny.”  I was walking around the venue, checking out artwork and remember being struck.  I turned and went up to the front of the stage.  It was one of my favorite concerts.  I left with two CD’s and a t-shirt.

Love is simple.

I only took three t-shirts on my current year long hitchhiking trip around the USA.  A red, cotton pocket t-shirt.  A capilene Patagonia t-shirt.  And your ‘Love is simple’ t-shirt.

My red t-shirt has died.  But your shirt is going strong.  I never really wear the Patagonia shirt.

Thank you for the great show and your music.  Thanks for the soft t-shirt with a striking message.  Thank you for inspiring me to see Love in a new way.

Much Love,

Ben

Meet Yohana, Eliot, and Maela.

Dahlia Love House.

Yohana. Eliot. Maela.

“Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow.  Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead.  Just walk beside me and be my friend.” – Albert Camus

 Meet Yohana. Eliot. Maela.

I said, So long, to my new friends at the Dahlia Love House.  I spent time making raised flower beds with three.

Yohana is a talkative Spainard.  She just moved her from San Diego.  She wants to grow and has to try something new.  Yohana will freak out if she sees a frog.

Eliot is a smiley, bouncey Frenchman.  Eliot wants to learn English.  He has been hitchhiking and hopping trains around the USA for the past 6 months.  Eliot’s Dad is American.  He gets distracted easily while working, but can strum a mean guitar.

Maela is a lucky French woman.  She wants to help people in prisons or schools and loves old French literature.  Maela loves the Dahlia Love House and just extended her stay her for a few more months.  She is meticulous weeder.

We make a good team in the fields.

Create Our World.
