Murrieta: A Great Place To Grow.

“When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor.  It’s to enjoy each step along the way.” – Wayne Dyer

After spending a week in nature, I then spend another week using a great library and researching how I can start to make some money as I travel.  This was in the small city of Murrieta.

Murrieta: ‘A Great Place to Grow.’

This city is on the up and up and I can see why.  It is located right in the valley.  Mountains all around make this a beautiful place.  I stick near the Old Town section that has a three block business district.

Interesting Facts of Murrieta:

*Second Safest City in the USA (according to Cara, an assistant librarian; Wikipedia labels it as 44th)

*Not named after Joaquin Murrieta, a bandit, whom the character, Zoro was based on.  Two ladies at a yard sale told me thought this was where Murrieta got it’s name.  In fact, it was actually named after Esequial Murrieta, a sheep farmer, whom first bought the land.

*The nearby hills are good for growing wine, avocados, and oranges.

***ADDITION (added this a week after I posted this):  The Winner of the Walmart Photo Shoot is “Meat Man.”  It edged “Hug Me.”  Congratulate Nicole on her photograph!

I love taking photographs in everyday places.

To see the beauty and the divineness in everyday, ‘normal’ moments.  To live my life in continual wonder of my surroundings.

This is my inspiration for my Walmart Photoshoot with my friend, Nicole.  We actually have a contest to see whom can take the best photograph.  Here are 4 of our best shots.  Place your vote by filling out the quick form below.

Vote by writing in the title of your fave shot!  There will obviously be no SPAM coming your way.

Julian, California: Pies and Poop.

Welcome to Julian, California!

Julian is near the California Wolf Center, which I wrote about yesterday.  My new friend, Nicole and I stop in Julian and explore this tourist town.

Julian is known most for its apple crop.  It’s pies and cider has been popular for about 100 years and they draw a big tourist crowd.  Factor in that Julian is set in some beautiful mountains, when Nicole and I stop the streets are busy with people milling in and out of the stores, restaurants, and shops.  Of course like any solid tourist town, there are horse drawn carts as well, leaving piles of horse poop.

Horse poop seems like is always present in tourist towns.

Courage. Strength. Freedom.

Nicole and I shot some photographs in the shops then head for home.  It has been a long day.  Tomorrow, Nicole and I attempt to fix the washing machine and I apply some lessons from a book I just read.
