This Couchsurfing Documentary’s message meshes well with Create Our World.

It explains, what Couchsurfing is about. It is a little long, 9 minutes so if you don’t have time to watch it, here is a brief overview.

Couchsurfing challenges the age-old American motto, “Don’t talk to strangers!!!” We were all told this as children and it has created a culture of people whom are skeptical of each other. Also, we are missing out on meeting new people and experience a bond of community.

Couchsurfers are normal people, just like you and I. Yet, Couchsurfers give trust to people they have never met. Open-mindedness and into having new experiences were some traits of Couchsurfers, detailed in the film.

My one criticism of the film, is that it overemphasizes the New York City Couchsurfing party scene. It my experience Couchsurfing is what you make it to be. If you want to stay in a quiet home, then that is available, if you want to party to dawn that is available too.

The film was made by Andrew Simone.

Tell me what you think at my email address, 2createourworld@gmail.com, on Create Our World’s. Facebook Wall, or in the comments section here.
