I stay for three days in Memphis with the Caravazo/Bone Family. Meet Brandon, Kandyce, and Elysia.

Meet the Family.

My friend, Elysia, from California invites me to stay with her and her family in Memphis.  

‘They are crazy!’  Their words not mine.  

They are kinda crazy, but they love each other and it is apparent.  Kandyce is Elysia’s mom.  She shows me around Memphis and knows a lot about the dangers of the city.  She used to travel around the USA too.  Grandma loves to make me food and she wont let me do any dishes.  Brandon, Elysia’s younger brother is a skateboarding whiz, who throw pitches for his little league team too.  TJ, Elysia’s other younger brother, is artistic and can play a mean guitar.  He doesn’t like to play in front of people though.  Jaxon is Elysia’s son, who usually has a smile on his face and likes to play with your ears.  

They adopt me into their family and make it hard to leave.

Michael is planning a big hiking trip.

Meet Michael.

Michael wants to hike, explore nature, and have solitude.  He is planning a walking trip out to Virginia.

It is interesting how I came to stay with Michael.  A few months back, Michael was surfing Youtube.  He stumbled upon my video that I made for my family and friends.  He sent me a message and we became facebook friends.  Well, wouldn’t you know it, I just happened to be heading to close to his house in very rural Mississippi.  He saw I was close, sent me a message and then drove down to pick me up.  Voila!

Michael is a musician and can churn out an awesome rendition of Kids by MGMT.  

He invites a friend over for the night and we swap stories and laughs.  We eat some buffalo chicken tenders and I snore on his couch.

Meet Christie & Drake.

These two pick me up near Hammond, Louisiana.  They are out for a drive on a nice day.

Christie and Drake are in love.  Drake tells me that Christie is the sweetest girl he has ever met.  “It’s great when you are so compatible with someone.”  They make faces at each other.  

Christie and Drake have an errand to run in their small hometown of Maccomb, MS.  They want to take me further up the road though.  Drake thinks that no one will pick me up here.  I decide to try to catch a ride anyway as they run their errand.  

After about 20 minutes, they are back.  They drive me up past Jackson, MS where I am going to meet up with Michael.  Christie is concerned that I am off on the right track.
